Massive Denial of Service Attack (DoS) Hits Network

Wednesday Evening at approximately 7pm a massive DoS
attack took down the network. Technicians identified the
sources to be coming from the Vaca South transmitter.
Service to all other transmitters and relays was
restored. Multiple sources have been identified and
isolated but technicians are still finding more sources.

The circuit will be upgraded from 12 Mb to 20 Mb on May
1, 2008. This will help overall speed of the network and
improve performance.
Snow and Ice Cause PG&E Outage on Mountains

The recent storm has downed PG&E power lines atop Mt.
Vaca, affecting service to customers connected to Vaca
North and Berrysessa Peak towers.

Firmware Upgraded on all Routers

The software on all customer routers was updated today
to the latest available from each manufacturer. The new
software improves performance and security.
Bandwidth Increase Planned for February 2008

We have initiated the process with our telecom company
to increase network bandwidth from 8 bonded T1s to a
full T3 by February 2008. This upgrade will improve
overall speed of the network.

was updated this Morning to the latest available from
Motorola. The new software improves performance and
stability.

On April 9th, two more T1 lines were bonded to the
existing six T1 lines to make the total, shared
bandwidth for the network 12Mbps. |
