Stream from Computer to TV

You have several options for streaming content from your computer to your TV.

OPTION 1: run a video cable from your laptop to the TV. Your laptop will likely have a VGA, DVI (regular, mini, micro), S-Video, or HDMI connector. Just purchase the appropriate cable and connectors from any electronics store (e.g. www.cyberguys.com, www.monoprice.com).

OPTION 2: dedicate a desktop computer as a home media center and move it next to the TV. Your desktop will have a VGA, DVI (regular, mini, micro), S-Video, or HDMI connector. Just purchase the appropriate cable and connectors from any electronics store (e.g. www.cyberguys.com, www.monoprice.com). You are basically turning your TV into a computer monitor. Anything you can do on the computer you can now do on the TV. This includes YouTube videos, using the Online Remote Control (from disablemycable.com) and watching free shows and movies from Hulu.

Then, buy a wireless mini keyboard. It has a wifi dongle that plugs into a USB port on your computer, and a small keyboard-remote you can use to control the computer. Here's an example of one.

OPTION 3: Buy Google's Chromecast dongle (from Best Buy, Amazon) and plug it directly into your digital TV's HDMI port. Then, use the Google Chrome web browser on your laptop or tablet to stream whatever you see on Chrome on your laptop/tablet to your TV. No need for a mini keyboard.

OPTION 4: If you have DLNA devices, you can setup streaming using DLNA.
